I am a current MOE trained teacher in a top IP school. I have been tutoring in a 1-to-1 and group setting as well as teaching in MOE schools over the past 10 years. I am also currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematics at one of our main local universities on a part-time basis.
As a teacher, I have taught in mainstream schools and currently teaching in a top IP school. Hence, I have been exposed to a wide spectrum of students. I have achieved high distinction rates in all the classes that I have taught in with many students seeing substantial improvements in their grades from the time i took them in.
As a tutor, I have tutored students from mainsteam secondary schools and schools offering the IP and IB syllabus, junior colleges, and, diploma and degree programmes offering mathematics related modules, either on a 1-to-1 or group setting. Students have in general performed very well with a high percentage of distinction rate.
As a researcher and educator, I have mentored fellow teachers and have also helped out with curriculum matters as a level coordinator in schools. I have also presented in local and overseas seminars and conferences on mathematics education. My research focuses largely on curriculum matters related to mathematics in the local context.
As my time is very limited with my ongoing commitments, i am focusing largely on small group tuition for now with a max class size of 10. I am able to teach all levels of mathematics up to the undergraduate level, but based on demand and practicality, at the moment, I will only be offering group tuition for Upper Secondary (Express) Emath, Amath, IP mathematics, and, JC H1 and H2 mathematics.
Tuition location is quite centralised and easily accessible from Ang Mo Kio, Serangoon, Hougang or Kovan mrt. It is home based and the place is equipped with air-conditioning, wifi access, full wall glass board and cctv camera. There's also free access to titbits and drinks. Class setting is beside the entrance and there will always be at least one female adult around at all times during lessons. Lesson duration will strictly be 2 hrs and students are expected to leave immediately, so that parents can keep track of their child's whereabouts. Any doubts on the student's part should be cleared during lesson itself or via watsapp. All these measures have been taken to ensure the saftey of every student.
Resources will be uploaded online on a regular basis and will be from MOE approved publishers or modified resources from top schools. In the event that students are not able to make it for lessons, they will be able to download the resources online and follow lessons via 'live' stream from their PCs, laptops or even mobile devices. This is to avoid the stress of trying to find a replacement class on the student's part.
All measures have been considered and taken to ensure the safety and well-being of students. Thank you and i hope that every student is able to appreciate the beauty and usefulness of mathematics through my lessons, and of course, to Ace the subject easily. |
